Napiers Travel Around The World in 50 Days
Well we've moved again. Had great time with Dave Caroline and the boys - it was nice to see them again almost nine years to the day. They are asking after you Ronnie and Scott and also the Crichtons. Went out for a meal on Friday night with Dave and Caroline to the Waterfront - very nice! Had breakfast on sat and left for Christchurch. Called into the market at Nelson before we left - full of local arts and crafts. Stopped off at Murchison for coffee and decided to stop at Hanmer Springs which is called the Alpine Pacific Triangle and we could see why. Staying at the Bella Vista Motel which is very nice the village has thermal pools and springs which off course was our first adventure. Davey really enjoyed it and found it very relaxing - I preferred swimming in the pool - much cooler. Sulphur pools and thermal pools are all around, I'm not sure they are that healthy! the sulphur stripped my nail varnish off!! whats it doing to the body. Indulged ourselves in some cheese and biscuits and wine in the room went to bed ready for our action packed day today. First we had booked the morning quad bike safari followed by horse trekking both very good. Met a couple who are touring in a camper van and got some tips from them - John and Pauline from Preston. unknown to us they had also book the horses in the afternoon. Our trek was with two others a mother and son who have just moved her from Warwickshire. At the moment they are camping but they have bought a house which they are moving into in March so they are having a holiday at the mo. They just decided to pack up and come over here - just wish we had thought of it twenty years ago, its a great place. Very like Scotland scenery wise but the roads are dead we hardly passed another car after four hours driving yesterday. The North Island is so different to the South and in both places the people are just so friendly. David has gone of for a massage while I get a shot of the car having a look about myself - never found any shops though!! Had coffee after our trek and a piece of lolly cake which is delicious, so I've got the recipe girlies and the ingredients which I don't think I will get at home so you can taste as well. Going back to the thermal pools when David comes back then we have dinner booked in there restaurant. Tomorrow more action we are off on White water rafting - I wanted the beginners one but daredevil Dave decided on a grade 2 so god help him if its hairy!! Heading for Christchurch after our rafting.
love to all
