It's moms birthday today so I caught up on all the Calabogie news! It's labour day weekend so everyone gets ready to leave Calabogie for the big city after this weekend...only Mom and Susan and Barry left! Fred and I took what was to be a 4 1/2 hour trip and turned out 6 hours! We kayaked 2 miles down a beautiful river...then walked 100 miles down a mud track which was extremely challenging till eventually we found the secret waterfalls...no wonder it was secret!!! fantastic views but really hard going...we had to wear wet shoes and they and us got soooo muddy! We started at 10:30 and got to waterfalls at 1:30 and were beat! Extremely dangerous walking in the mud and a big uphill at the end! I nearly lost Fred! But the waterfalls view was perfect! I had a swim in the pool which was freezing but refreshing! We had lunch on the rocks...reminded us so much of west Australia! Fred decided not to kayak back so I did all the tough work and even on my own we were head of the crew so I felt good about my kayaking skills! Got home, a scotch and bed for Fred....I went for a walk and chilled for an hour or so... Then time for dinner and bed! We should not wake up at 3am tomorrow from jetlag....I think we will sleep for 2 days!
