My travels...
I'm sorry I haven't updated you all for absolutly ages. I just haven't gone on the internet in a while.
Anyway, I hope you're all okay. I am missing you all loads but still having a great time!
Umm, at the moment I am in Hanoi. We've travelled all the way up from Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City) to Muine Beach-Dalat-Hoi An-Hanoi-Halong Bay and back to Hanoi. We're going to Sapa tonight which is near the Chinese Border so right at the north of Vietnam. We have about a week left in Vietnam and then we're going into Laos for about 3 weeks then down to Singapore to fly to Perth. I can't believe it's only one month until we go to Australia!
Vietnam has been absolutly amazing. We've seen so much and I still feel like we've only just arrived but we've been here already for about a month. From Dalat-Hoi An we went on a tour with two guys called Mui and Hien known as 'EasyRiders'. They took us on the back of their motorbikes for 7 days all through the central highlands seeing various minority cultures and towns and loads of things we wouldn't have seen in Vietnam if we didn't go with them. It would have been even more amazing if the tour guides hadn't have turned out to be arrogant idoits. Especially Mui. Mui was an idoit who spoke as us and not with us. He ignored anything we said and had a really ignorant awful personality. On our years anniversary we went out to eat (every night we'd eat with them) but this night Mui for exceptionally drunk and blabbed on about crap all night and was just a plain idoit. He tried to drive me home on his motorbike drunk. He went to get on it and just fell on it, so we obviously walked back. Aside from that we did see a lot of Vietnam so I was kind of glad that we did it. But I was so glad when we arrived in Hoi An and could spend time away from them.
After a few days of relaxing in Hoi An we got a train to Hanoi. The train was hectic. We booked it for 5.38am and were due to get picked up at 4.30am by car but the car never came. So we waited, and waited and waited. We had to go and wait outside the place we'd booked it until it opened which was at about 7.15am. The woman blamed us slightly but we got a new train at 1pm which arrived at 6.00am in Hanoi. It was a horrid train. We were so knackered as we'd got up early for the early train and just couldn't sleep in the chairs. But we eventually arrived in Hanoi and just slept for ages.
Hanoi is a crazy city. Full of motorbikes and crazy people. Horns going all of the time. In England you only beep a horn if it's something a little serious. Over here they beep horns just to let people know they are coming, so yeah the horns beep constantly it's crazy. We had to get away from Hanoi for a bit so we went ot Halong Bay by boat. It was so relaxing, we actually experianced silence for the first time since coming out here, heaven. But sadly the tour only lasted two days so we came back yesterday and here we are again back in Hanoi. It's not so bad though. I mean it's full of veggie restaurants...even a veggie indian restaurant.
We're off to Sapa tonight by night train...not another train but thankfully we have beds so we'll just sleep through it. We've only about a week left so we've got to make the most of our last week.
I'm looking forward to Laos. Apparently Laos is so relaxing. Must quieter than Vietnam and really backwards and behind from everything else which'll be nice. So yeah, Laos is going to be gorgeous.
