Well for my last day in Hong Kong the rains came! I didn't do too badly considering it is the rainy season. Wendy and I were a little worse for wears anyway due to the excesses of the night before so I spent most ofthe day asleep! They have an airport express down in central where you can check into your flight anytime on the day you fly. Went to Kowloon today on the Star Ferry, Kowloon is much closer than I though it would be - the ferry takes you across the harbour in about ten minutes and costs about 30p! Went to the Hong Kong museum of Art and had a shop around. Picked up a one gb memory card for my camera for seventeen pounds which was a steal :) In the evening Wendy and I hit the bars in Soho. Today I took the ferry over to Lantau to visit the Big Budda - Its the biggest bronze Budda in the world weighing in at 220 tonnes and standing 26 metres high! Caught my first Hong Kong bus today too - they've got these great little cards called Octopus which you load up with credit. This morning I went to the Botanical Gardens which were great - saw lots of animals and birds and they had a Jaguar enclosure which was great. Went up the outdoor escalator which runs up the side of the Island. Its the longest outdoor escalator in the world apparently. It runs downhill till 10am and then after that it spends the rest of the day going uphill (which is a big bonus because some of thr streets are very steep! Think Bridge street in Bideford!) In...
