Hey,
So I spent 5 days in Buenos Aires to visit our Argentino cousin Jorge. I found Jorge on Facebook like less than 2 months ago and we started to discover our family links and similarities. Strange enough how Rey-Grange people have strong same features!!
To tell you a bit about him, Jorge is a Chef and had had extraordinary experiences in his life, as beautiful as sometimes not that fun. He`s 29 now and actually he left Buenos Aires to live in Villa Hermosa, Mexico, where he found a job as Chef. Jorge is a adventurous guy who lived for most part of his life in Patagonia. He cycled from Ushuaia to Panama on his own during more than one year, crossing South American countries from East to West, helping schools and orphenates on the way thanks to the money he received from his challenge. The initial aim was to cycle from Ushuaia to Alaska, but because of the crisis in Argentina (2001) he had to stop in Panama... Lots of other amazing stories could be told but I wish he could write a book about them.
During this 5 days however I`ve been able to see the `bad side of the coin` of Argentina. When I was in Argentina 4 years ago, everything seemed great to me, people were very nice, landscapes were amazing and Buenos Aires was the city of my dreams... But living as a local is much different and I`ve experienced some parts of the crap corrupted system which actually tarnished a lot the image I had of this country, that`s such a shame. The first day I arrived, we struggled with Jorge to enter the train, 20 minutes later the train stopped, 1 of the motors was burning, and waiting for the firemen to water the flames another train bumped into us... no injures don`t worry, but it was just the beginning!
Fortunately Jorge made this time in Buenos Aires very special and emotionaly strong, we had so much to learn from each other, and still there are lots of unresolved mysteries...
Thank you so much Jorge, we see you soon in Mexico or France.
