Hello again! so since the last time i was able to come on here, we have been to tanzania and went past mt kilimanjaro and Mt Meru, We stayed in a campsite called Maserani snake park and had 2 days to relax there and actually have a shower! on the sat it was a girls bday called hannah-this was the first real time we could have a good night as we had nothing to do the next day, lets say it was an eventful night and claire was one of the highlights :D. we spent the next day recovering etc, went on another village tour but on a camel this time! very interesting.. the chief of this tribe was about 80 years old, had 7 wives and 50 kids! they were all so excited and we played with them fro a while, after that we went to the snake parks snake sactaury, where they kept every tanzanian species! it happened to be feeding time.. they fed the huge mamba a guini pig-live!! and the smaller snake, live baby chicks! We actually saw the snakes eat them alive, it was so sad! they had crocs and a few birlds there two but they were injured. The the following day we set off for the serengeti NP, did a game drive there and camped in the middle of it. i woke up at midnight coz i could here the wildebeast grazing around us, and the hyena howeling! the longdrops were so discusing and spider ridden that we all went for the bush option taking it in turns to look out for lions lol. The animals were so close, was an amazing experience and even better than the masai mara..we then went to collect fire wood from dry plains nearby, we had to push the trees over and break themso we could load them on the roof of the trucks!! then we stayed a night at the top of the Ngorongoro crater which was about and hour away, it was once a volcano but it erupted and now just a big crater filled with wildlife. The outside is really fertile and like a jungle so we drove up and stayed a night on part of the rim, its freezing but amazing views, the stars are so clear and the sunsets were so red and we had a good fire going! A couple of us stayed up late with two of the drivers, we watched a water buffalo walk through our tents from the safety of the fire-they are massive! and wild bush pigs walkin round our tents! we were a bit scared to used the long drops in the dark, and so were ther people running from their tents which was quite funnyto watch! We had another game drive in the middle of the crater in the moring which was amazing-it is basically like in the lion king-loads of animals all together in a small area, scrrounded by the crater wall and low level clouds surrounding us. We saw all the big 5 in there 2 and the lakes were really full of life-awsome! We left here to go back to the snake park for a night and the next morning set off to Dar Es Salam, which is hours and hours away yet still in Tanzania (said Tan-zan-ya here), Eventually got a ferry to an island just next to it where we stayed in huts for the night, then in the morn we left for another ferry to zanzibar (two large islands with lots of smaller ones) which have the nicest secluded islands and beaches i have ever seen!! in the morn of the first day we all went for a swim in the warm sea but one of the guys got stung by a jellyfish! so we left that and played volleyball.. whilst we have been here its been like a holiday, no tents to put up and no cooking and cleaning! what luxuary and even our own toilets and showers! The next day(yday) we all organised a boat trip which icluded lunch and snorkeling all for 18 dollars!!The boat was a bit rikity, there were 30 on this dodgy lookin boat called a dhow. We set off for a private island 2hours away, we didnt get to go on this island as it was privaetly owned but we all hopped out and went snorkeling, saw all the coral and all the fish-a few like dory! We also saw a few other types but i duno there names! after that we sailed to another iland that wasnt privately owen but secluded, the guys who took us out had caught us 2 fish-a dorada and a halua-I am now a fish fan! we sunbathed and tookin in the view! I tried diving yday 2, wasnt very keen tho as a jellyfish swam past me but il give it another go in oz probs. Other ppl went for a propper dive and saw turtes and dolphin which would have been amazing if i was qualified! last night a couple of the groups tour had finished so we had a nice meal out, other then that everyone heres cool, there were 23, 19 of us joined a smaller group who had been to other places first, theres like 7 guys and half attatched! everyones cool tho, some funny characters but most from england, the one who got stung's from perry bar! small world. one girl called chloe from oz, one from scottland called Heather and a couple from NZ,-we plan to visit them, their tour ended 2 nights ago and another couple from brum and leeds who went last night. I got to make my own cocktail last night which was cool. A few of us are going 2 the local town called stone town at 2 and to stay the night. We are goin on a spice tour(im a big fan :S) we've had some awsome tasting bbq fish here so trying to rob their secret ingredients!. Tomo we are all going back to Dar for the night on the same resort as before then onto Malawi! . umm.. wat else, drinks are well cheep here and we've met so many "interesting" ppl.. il try wack on some picks, iv taken so many but the connections sooo slow!!! but yeah, keep in touch and il speak soon! love love love xxx
