okay, so our night was very fun, just me claire selina and our room mate steve and a big group of lads on a bucks night (stag do). the next day we had planned to sunbthing...so our day of sunbathing didn't go to plan,, we spent the hole day asleep feeling very bad after drinking too much goon! (cheap boxed wine) We left the next day at 7 am (still feeling rough) for the whitsundays on a sailing boat trip for 2nights and 3 days.. we visited several islands and snorkeled a couple times, slept on the boat and on the second night went for a bit of a party on south molle island. we saw some amazing beaches -white haven being the most amazing iv ever seen. I saw a huge turtle about 2meters long and swam around it for a while which was quite exciting! When we got back to Airlie we left the next day for a place called Kroombit which is a cattle fram out in the bush! we stayed there for one night but got to do a load of fun things there like cracking a whip, riding a bucking bronko ( i lasted a whole second!). that eve we played some funny and slightly wiierd drinking games that the locals must play every night. the next morn we learnt to throw a boomerang, did clay pigeon shooting (3/5) then we got into groups of 3's, we had to pretend to brand a goat; I had to catch it in a pen (approx 7mins of embaressment), our friend luke tipped it and claire poked it with an iron brander! exhausting and quite scary-for the goat, but a good laugh! a few people chose to be shocked/alectricuted by a cattle mover stick thing, pretty funny video, and we learnt how to make a cannon with a drainpipe, aerosol and lemons-they can do some serious damage!! we left there to go to Hervey bay where we were earlier today. When we got there we just went out for a meal with the girls that we've been traveling with but they had an early start the next day so we would catch up with them in a few days.. we went whale watching the next day! was absolutely amazing-the whales were so close and we even had dolphins jumpin up at the bow of the boat once they heard the engine.. they were happily playin with the whales so wherever the dolphins went they followed! took some great pics and it was such a clear calm day, you could see so much through the water! the next day we set off in groups of 10 in 4x4s for a 2night 3day safari of fraser island, its the largest sand island i believe! myself and a couple others got to drive 4x4s on the beach but got stuck several times through deep soft sand getting through the island to the other side! we had an itinery that we could stick to and visited the most beautiful lakes ever-clear fresh water and white sand, it was basically a massive natural pool called lake biribeen.. we camped on the beach and cooked our first meal. following day we went up the coast to indian head wheer u can see out quite far and spot whales sharks and turtles! really nice. we then went to a place called lake wobby-a giant sand dune next to a lake and its about a 2hour walk to get to but well worth the run back down the dune! our night was spent by the beach again and we were visited by a couple dingos! we met another 4x4 that were pretty crazy so we had a good night woke up early to miss the tide.. we went to lake makenzie-its basically lake biribeen only 5x bigger-spent the hole day sunbathing here and swimming for very short amounts of time as it was freezing but some managed to swim accross the lake some how!! we left yesterday at about 4 and got back to hervey bay at 6ish, showered and started drinking games with our truck in the hostel befroe goin to the only place open, beaches. we ended up having a great night despite it being pretty empty but we felt bad this morn!! we said bye to the rest of our truck which was a shame as they were all goin north. we did some clothes washing today and little else. Now in a place called Rainbow beach, me and claire are having an early night as we are leaving again at 8 am to go to Noosa where the girls we travel with are waiting! x
