Louise & Lucy's Trek: Round The World In 80 Days
Hello everybody! We arrived in the big city (Sydney, in case you were wondering) on Saturday!! We said goodbye to our tour group that night and celebrated with a couple of drinks and some dancing in a club before managing to stay up late enough ('til 4 am!) to watch the England-Portugal game.
Next morning we went to the Zoo - and tried to find all the animals that we couldn't find in the wild! Unfortunately we failed - as we still havent seen a cassowary bird! We are pretty certain they dont really exist and its all a big joke! Like the haggis bird!
After seeing the Sydney Harbour Bridge, Sydney Opera House and all that jazz, we walked through the Botanical Gardens where the first settlers tried to grow their veggies. We then watched the sun set over the Harbour Bridge and the Opera House, but we wont bore you with ALL the photos that we took!
Next day we headed to Manly Island which was not manly enough for our liking - so we hot footed it to Bondi Beach... where there were lots of surfer dudes doing very manly and exciting jumps! After walking across the Sydney Harbour Bridge we went and had supper at the Rocks (the oldest part of Sydney where they first landed).
Unfortunately we had chosen to go to the Blue Mountains on Tuesday... which also happened to be the wettest day of the year so far! We headed out with Andres and Lena (Lucy's Fabien's brother! and friend) and got beautiful views of clouds and fog! Nevermind! It was still good fun!
We were very sad to be leaving Sydney the next day so on Wednesday we took some consolation from retail therapy, and shopped! Woe are us (or something like that!). We also rounded off the trip by going to the Sydney Opera House to see Romeo + Juliet. Louise cried (only a bit though!) while Lucy slept (only a bit though!). It was very amusing to hear Shakespeare performed in an Aussie accent! We shall do impressions when we get back!!
To round off our Australian trip we would like to leave you with a song!! Which dont worry, we will sing for you in an ocker Aussie accent when we get back as well!! HA HA!
DEADLY ANIMALS (COME TO AUSTRALIA) by Scared Little Weird Guys
Redback, Funnel-Web, Blue-ringed octopus
Taipan, Tigersnake and a Box jellyfish
Stonefish and the poison thing that lives in a shell
That spikes you when you pick it up
Come to Australia
You might accidentally get killed
Your life's constantly under threat
Have you been bitten yet?
You've only got three minutes left
Before a massive coronary breakdown
Redback, Funnel-Web, Blue-ringed octopus
Tiapan, Tigersnake and a Box jellyfish
Big shark just waiting for you to go swimming
At Bondi Beach
Come to Australia
You might accidentally get killed
Your blood is bound to be spilled
With fear your pants will be filled
Because you might accidentally get killed!
See you in New Zealand!!
