Well I have just spent a very frustrating 40 minutes trying to upload photos to this b****** thing to no avail, so if everyone could be patient with me that would be appreciated (you know who you are!)
Anyway on a brighter note, I will write my Fraser Island entry soon as it was one of the best experiences here so far, but see above for the reason behind my limited internet time now!!!!!
In Brisbane at the mo, quite nice to be in a big city although there is suprisingly little to do when the weather is crap, as it is at the moment. I'll go back to Noosa and fill you in a bit.
Noosa Heads- got here from Hervey Bay on the 10th Nov, completely drained after razzing it around Fraser Island/ dingo spotting. Watched Pride and Prejudice on the bus down, obviously I was hooked (I managed not to cry though). Stayed in a lovely YHA called Halse Lodge, which is a big old Queenslander country house type place, having our own room is like heaven after sharing a very small tent with 5 others then a dorm with 14 beds! Did very little apart from eat thai curry and sleep...what party animals we are :-)
Next day went to the main beach which is gorgeous, Noosa reminds me of Miami, and everyone is really rich...which is slightly depressing as we are really poor. Walked up a small mountain to the cupermarket, cooked chicken faji8tas for tea and then fell into a coma at 8pm...oh dear.
Australia Zoo really was the highlight of our time in Noosa. We saw so much, cheetahs walk along the tracks of the shuttle bus, elephants, tigers, fed kangaroos, saw wombats and tazzie devils, dingoes (finally) etc etc. the Steve Irwin tribute was beautiful, and so weird to see the pictures of him everywhere. It really is a lovely place though and speaks volumes about his personality and achievements. I cried on the tour bus to the zoo at a video of him describing when a man accidentally shot his best friend (his staffordshire bull terrier) Chilli.
Ho hum so then onto Brisbane, we are staying in a funky place called Bunk which is nice enough, and ventured out to the cinema to see little miss sunshine...not very touristy but we were ready for a bit of chill out time.
Yesterday we did a fab tour round the city, it was like a militray operation and I loved it! Saw literally everything in one day, including a tour round Parliament, City Hall, 2 museums and an art gallery and very excitingly the Ashes Urn!!! yes thats right apparently Australia have only been allowed to have it here once before so a very excited old man told us the history of it ;-) we were naturally absorbed, loving cricket as much as I do. The main thing I take away from it, is that it is tiny. I never realised it was so small and unimposing!!!!
Night out tonight, which I am very excited about. We have a goon....I won't explain now but expect me to have a terrible hangover in my next entry...hahahahahaa xxxxx
