Lau speaking...
So, after the stressful Koa Sok we moved onto Krabi, a very quiet place with very little to do. This meant I was able to shop for and replace my second camera to date...Lets hope it's third time lucky! As there was little to do we enrolled on a days Thai cookery course. The only word to describe this is...ummmmm! We can now cook coconut soup, stir fry, red curry and banana spring rolls. Maybe we will treat you all to our Thai cuisine when we return...
Next stop, Ko Lanta! A gorgeous island with a very 'Long Beach'. (Leonardo Dicaprio has a house there, don't you know!) We had an interesting 'hostel' for our first night, consisting of a wooden shack, one bed and a mattress on the floor, an open shower/toilet and a bar 1 metre from our wooden wall, open til 3am. After a night of very little sleep, shared with a mozzie inside our mosquito net, we opted out of there and spent the rest of our time in a quaint little bungalow!
Next up was Koh Phi Phi (Peepee). It was here that was most affected by the 2004 Tsunami. It has recovered really well though (probably because they have uped the price of everything!) and has some beautiful spots. We had a great night out-which Phi Phi is known for-and treated ouselves to wine, whcih we haven't had since China!
Our final stop in Thailand was Phuket, where we stayed for a few nights before taking a flight to our next destination...Singapore!
