Been a busy week and I'm only getting to this now on the train to Paris from Zurich. Munich has not yet faded from my memory, despite the liters of bier consumed In the gardens. Arrived toward the end of the day to my first camping experience. The place was appropriately deemed "the tent" and housed roughly two hundred backpackers in one large...you guessed it, tent. Had a few other options including pitching your own tent or sleeping in another smaller tent on a hardwood floor. Decided against the floor since a crooked back is not worth the extra three euros. Felt very, very welcomed and relieved when I got checked in and took a look at the place. They had a cheap bar, live music and campfires most nights, and best of all cheap, oranic dishes served all day long. Place was really unbeatable and filled to the brim with interesting people with unbelievable stories. First night I met a guy from Cali straight off the bat. Guy seemed a little shall we say off keel at first with his abrupt mannerisms, but we got caught up in conversation anyways. Will the Cali surfer dude and I ended up spending most of the four-ish days seeing Munich together. First day was dachau concentration camp in the morning. Very powerful experience or me, all seemed so impossible. Will wouldn't shut up about how dachau was nothing compared to the efficient and deaths-of-scale system used in auschwitz. Either way when you stare into those brick ovens and stand before the "work liberates" gate, you'll undoubtedly feel rather removed from reality. Glad to see lots of young kids there, knowledge and bold opposition is the best way to ensure it doesn't happen again. Sweltering heat was unbearable on the standing room only bus back to the train station. We spent the latter half of the day exploring the hippest park I've ever seen called englisher gardens. Place was far more than a field to throw a frisbee or walk your dog. Man made river had people floating and even surfing in the quick current. River lead to a big lake which was surrounded by the German cultural staple of biergartens. Boisterous and informal, these places are great to sit down and have a drink. One is more than plenty though because most beers are served in thick, heavy mugs made to withstand drunken toasts and holding a whopping liter of beer. Was about to comment on it being so much beer, but looked over to see and eighty plus year old lady slugging down her beer. Kept my mouth shut after that. Aquired the mug for a nice souvenir, I'll pay for
It with the extra weight in my pack. Next day was mad king Ludwigs castles in neuschwanstein. Rented bikes to get up there. By now I've got
Some decent stamina, but the six speed was not a good choice for that incline. Castle was elegant and Disney-esque. Only a third complete unfortunately. The night was fun with a roaring bond fire until four uber stoned Dutch guys came into the tent. They found a snoring man to be the absolute epitome of humor. Every breath he took was accompanied with uncontrolled laughter for fourty five minutes until they were almost kicked out. Rest of Munich was fun and contained more beer and sights downtown, but my iPod is dying and I need to write about swizzzerland as well.

DAD abrupt mannerisms - should be used to that. Over.
