After landing in Entebbe airport we settled down in Kampala, the capital of Uganda.
Kampala, which is build on seven hills, like Rome (but this is where the comparispon begins, and ends!!) is an extraordinary, vibrant african City!
Not too big like Nairobi, but big enough that U can see the whole spectrum of what life has to offer!
One thing I have to say first is that the whole situation in Uganda is not as worse as I have expected! yeah it is Africa and it is an underdeveloped country, but they are doing quite well, and above all is the african calmness, accomponied with a BIG portion of friendlyness spiced up with a really social sence, U really feel warmly welcomed here..
It all starts with the greeting which is not just a simple Hi!, no they ask U how are U doing , welcome U and somehow start a smal talk, wonderful, as long as U are in no hurry, because strait to the point goes almost nothing here...
It is rally a somehow relaxed feeling...
Marianne and I have the pleasure of a own transport with Father Robert as our Driver and Companion and this is a great way to get a feeling of the african vibre.
As in all cities in such countries daily life is happening on the street, and driving trough the street and observing this extraordinary scene of african life is just overwhelming!
First of all we went downtown to get some money, which I finally received after the 4th ATM!
U can imagine I really get a little bit worried about that ...
One really funny thing about the restaurants we have been so far is the fact that in the evening U are virtually eating in almost darkness, really when U dont get a candle, or the running TV is near U U can see not so clear, and then U start asking yourself what reason this might have.....?
Well, maybe U should not see so clearly the food what U get serves, or it can just be energy saving.
Yeah, and by the way, as it happens almost all times I already converted to an almost Vegetarian diet, after seeing how the meet is "stored" ....
