Today we left Toowoomba and headed south to Walcha (65km south Armidale). We travelled through the Qld towns of Warwick and Stanthorpe (the granite belt wine region - there's at least 15 wineries in the area) and the onto Wallangarra - where we crossed over the border and back into NSW. You can tell you're back in NSW as the pubs start advertising tooheys new instead of XXXX gold. We stopped for a look at Tenterfield, Glen Innes, Armidale and Uralla. All pretty towns. Would be amazing in Autumn - as the popler trees (which there are lot of) would have orange leaves. The drive between the towns was also quite nice - farmland and mountains. We arrived in Walcha around 2.30. Tonight we are staying in a cabin at the caravan park as its expected to be -2 overnight. It has been the coldest day since Narrabri - around 7 degrees and the wind is freezing. We had a look at Apsley Falls which are about 20km east of Walcha, they have alot of water flowing - really nice. The town also has sculptures scattered around. Next stop: Home
