And so the time has come for us to leave Finch Hatton and begin some more of our journey... but first, a quick stop into Townsville, a place we consider to be our "Home" and where we plan to return to eventually - unless we find somewhere better along the way!
So into the car we got again. Although after 6 weeks of being stopped, we had forgotten how much stuff we really had! A quick drop off to the Salvos to jettison some weight made us a little late on the road, and after a few hugs and goodbyes from the ladies who had been my neighbours, Wendy, Lisa & Lindy, we were off again!
Passing through familiar sights - the turn off to Airlie, Bowen, Home Hill... we were getting excited! We could literally "smell" Townsville!
We arrived in the afternoon at a friend's house, Kate & Scott, who although they were well into preparations for moving to Toowoomba within a few days of us arriving, were happy to give us a plot of lawn, hook us into power & share their bathroom with them - and their two kids - oh, and Scott's parents who happened to be there too!!! LOL!!! Six adults and four kids using one toilet and shower!!! Luckily we were just passing through after organising a few things before hitting the unknown!
Townsville was great. It was wonderful to see some old friends, but sad we only stayed a few days... I would have loved to stayed more, but I was worried that if I did, we wouldn't leave again!
It was strange - that feeling you get when flying into Sydney airport after being overseas... you know when you have come home! I hesitated the few days we stayed, wondering to Phil "What If"... but he reassured me. The trip must go on! And I saw for myself that not only would Townsville still be there when we got back, but that I could now enjoy myself and this trip, relatively stress free...
Or so I thought...
