On second reflection I guess doing a backflip barefoot off the surface of a boat deck was a stupid idea, but no regrets and all that (still landed it perfectly, of course) even if it did leave me hobbling like an idiot for the last day of the Whitsundays!
NEVERTHELESS The Whitsundays trip was still amazing. On the first day we boarded our boat, The Atlantic Clipper, at 2:30pm and set sail for our first overnight stop. We were intoduced to our crazy crew, then given an awesome meal of fresh fish (yes fresh food!) and mash potato before getting to know everyone else on board whilst the sunset. The nights involved plenty of crazy games, mostly involving vegemite (never again), dance-offs- hence the fateful backflip, and of course plenty of goon. The second day I woke up barely able to walk but was still determined to get to Whitheaven beach as it's officially the 2nd most beautiful beach in the world! So with a little help from the guys, I managed to hobble to the beach (looked like I had the worlds worst hangover...) Definately worth it, the beach was stunning. The sand was like talcum powder and the water was so so clear. OVer the few days we also got to do a few Snorkal Dives which was amazing, decided to man up and take my camera underwater and actually got some pretty decent pictures! We even got introduced to this MASSIVE fish called Elvis that was like a fish version of a dog! - Let's you stroke and hug him!
After our Whitsundays trip we headed to Magnetic Island which is a tropical little island a ferry ride away from townsville, but it was Good Friday so there was nothing to do (it's taken pretty seriously here for some reason?..), so we took advantage of the amazing weather and scenic surround to chill out and get some tanning done. The next day we headed up to Cairns, after actually getting a lie in, so everyone was actually refreshed for the bus journey so were actually awake for once!! Resulting in one of the craziest bus jourmeys of my life...
Since gettting to Cairnes we've been trying to make the most out of the incredible weather we've been having, chilling at the lagoon in the days, and taking advantage of the awesome nightlife here. We're here for a week now before moving onto New Zealand so need to decide still whether to Sky Dive here or in NZ...
Henry and Sam left 2 days ago now, and I'm not gonna lie, was pretty emotional (no homo)- was really sad to see them go. Spent the day mourning their loss, and decided to dye Billys hair bright blonde, which of course as we should have really predicted- came out ginger! hahaha, he looks so European it's hilarious. Now currently trying to decide if to dye it blonde again or back to brown... or just keep it. I think he secretly likes it. Apart from that not too much else to report, me and Bill had a surreal night out with the craziest Swedish people I've ever met from our dorm, who managed to convince us (well we had no choice really)to come out on our chilled night, and we went on 'The Party Bus' last night which was actually alot better than the cheesey name makes it out to be.
Anyway internet time is nearly up, hope everyones good back home and has had an awesome easter. Missing you all X

katy Great to know what you've been up to. Enjoy the last few days of Oz. Tell Billy I always wanted a ginger baby....
Nan Hi Alex - We are still enjoying reading your blogs and are very envious of the wonderful things you have been doing especially your cruise round the islands. I hope you are taking it all in and storing everything deep in your memory banks. Hope you have not come across too many creepy crawlies as I believe there are quite a few of them in the Cairnes area. I met an Australian man yesterday who said that Cairnes is a very beautiful city. Alll is well here. Take care of yourself and no more backflips!! x
