Right, dave writing again for the final time in Aus!!! hopefully a bit of a shorter blog than last time although a fair bit has happened since.
We went from Hervey Bay to Fraser Island for a couple of days which was good fun. Didn't have the best of weather on the first day (supposedly it rains on Fraser island 200 days a year) but it was so windy that one minute it was raining and the next it was sunny so got a few good photos!
Obvious highlight was going along the 75 mile beach in a massive 4x4 but also the views from Indian Head and going into Lake Mckenzie (Freezing, but great for your hair and skin + the sand there cleans jewellry) and Lake Wabbi which had some awesome sand dunes. If you didn't know, Fraser Island is made totally from Sand so by the time we were heading back we had sand on everything! Our Boat to get us off the island was delayed by about 2 hours which was annoying but Leo made a great celeb spot and saw Chris Kamara (Soccer Saturday pundit guy) which was "Unbelievable" and we got a photo with him which was another bonus (Will be on facebook soon!!)
We then left on a all day Greyhound to Byron Bay where we Stayed with Leo's Aunt Angie and her family. It was really nice to get some home-cooking and also stay in a bed and get a lie-in. Byron Bay itself was one of my favourite places as it wasn't totally overrun by backpackers and we had some really good weather! With the weather being good we decided to do a bit of surfing which was really good fun (leo has put some photos up on Facebook) and we both managed to stand up.Another highlight of Byron was this Cinema called the Lounge in the Art Factory where you get to watch a film pretty much lying on Cow skin covered couches and pillows, very cool!
We also managed to get up to the lighthouse (pic) which was nice as well.
Then another overnight (and last one, yay!!) to Sydney where we had a full day. I will have to give special thanks to Laura (my cousin) for giving us a good itinery of things to do this time as i really like sydney now, it definately helps not being as jet-lagged and being able to see the sun!!! We managed to go to Both Manly beach and Bondi Beach although no swimming, it is pretty cold in NSW. The ferry to Manly gives you great view of the opera house and harbour bridge (which we crossed!). We even managed to go to the museum today before heading off to the airport, which was overrun by kids due to it being the holidays.
Phew, tried to make it shorter than the last blog but its not much smaller!! Hopefully will get a good trip over to Bangkok tonight where everything will be cheaper, good times
