RETREAT WEEKEND: TWIN LAKES, MISSISSIPPI!
It actually has been a while ago, but we love to share this story with you and we are actually really busy in the States so we like to take this opportunity to let you know more of what we did in our retreat weekend.
This amazing weekend was from 1-3 October in Twin Lakes, Mississippi and it was one of our best trips evvuuurrrr. Jesper didn't thought it would be that interesting, unlike Lena, but we decided to go anyway just to be a nice weekend away from the city and campus life. The retreat weekend was organized by "Voice of The Nations" as they put different groups together and simply have fun during the weekend. Our group consisted of 30 people or so…multiple it with 5 or 6 other groups and you will have an idea of how many people had attended this amazing program. Uhm, okay…for the ones who have troubles doing that, we were up to 120/150 people from around the world who are studying in different states like: Arkansas, Florida, Mississippi, and of course, Tennessee.
On our way, we played a scavenger hunt with groups made out of the people who were in each car. We had to do different things: find as many as license plates from different states, create a group name and song, make group pictures + take picture with strangers, etc. Our group was really serious about it and of course, we won!:) Our prize? A package of TWIX, whoepdiewoeh! It was fun, though, and that's what counts!;) We arrived in the evening and signed ourselves in and had an opening speech and a conference that was focused on having fun, but also on religion, as this is really important in the South. It was really interesting and fun to experience and great to be part of one of the groups at the retreat. We did fun stuff like sitting in a circle and play little games to know each other's names, build a tower with marsh mellows and uncooked spaghetti and a lot more! Before the night was over, some people got together and played around by singing songs which was accompanied by guitar. We got to know each other well and this was only the beginning.
Saturday was an amazing day. The sun was shining, good breakfast, good start of our day where we had some talks and discussions about several subjects. After that, we did a lot of things. We saw turtles, chilled in hammocks, played Frisbee, went canoeing, played basketball and soccer, went into the fire tower and so much more. We did all of this before dinner and in beautiful nature surroundings as you can see in pictures or through our videos on our YouTube channel. BEAUTIFUL! It was good…IT WAS GOOOOOOD!:) We relaxed a bit, got a suntan, ate dinner, took a shower and went on to the talent show. Jesper had been playing around with his group earlier and got into some kind of Chinese movies fighting mood with a couple of other people and we made some amazing jokes about it. We actually just wanted to check it out, but during the talent show somebody told us that they signed us up for the talent show as they thought it was amazing what we did and we should show our talent! Not more than 20 minutes before our performance, we figured out a skit and created some guidelines. During our actual skit we just did some amazing improvisation and it all came together!:) It was amazing and never expected to be that fun and it all worked out…CRAZY!:) Check at www.youtube.com/lenajesper for that particular video better known as the 'Brand New Matrix Fight'. WE HAD A BLAST!:)
After that, we chilled some more and played some games. It was a fun night where we got to know a lot more people and shared some amazing experience with people who we got to know much better than we would have ever expected. We had some breakfast on Sunday and we were home around noon looking back at some amazing moments. Take a look at our pictures and videos where we share the beauty we saw and fun things we did during the retreat weekend.
Love from Lena & Jesper!:)
