In the morning we said a tearful farewell to our travelling companion Wes who was flying down to Melbourne, it was sad to see him go but gives us someone to visit in America. There is not much to do in Airlie Beach by day so we just relaxed by the lagoon and worked on our tans, miraculously in this heat even the pastiest true Englishman can go brown. In the evening me, a Swiss guy called Pascal and a huge Danish guy called Daniel (see pics for how tall he was)Â took advantage of the free bbqs on the beach and continued the great Aussie tradition of throwing meat on the barbie. Our roommates were both pretty funny, although I felt sorry for the girls in our room when she wanted to use the toilet Pascal shouted to Dniel, 'Daniel there is a girl who would like to enjoy you can she come in'. So we had another multi-national night out in Airlie Beach, where a good time was had by all. There ws a Swedish guy in our room who was a bigger poker fan than Lee, think even he was amazed at how much this kid knew! As our whole sailing crew had moved on we decided to get the coach to Cairns the next day. It was another 10 hour journey which we did overnight so had a day relaxing in Airlie Beach before the journey, we're boh getting the hang of sleeping on the coach and my inflatable pillow is a life saver, even if I do look like an old granny.
