We saw a few of these little marsupials over on our day at Rottnest Island. The island is named after them after a Dutch navigator who discovered the island centuries ago mistook them for rats, hence 'Rottnest' which translated from rats nest. They are bigger than a rat but smaller than a wallabie - quite cute little animals though
