HELLO from the most melancholy place on earth london. haha i love it here, i mean whats not to love, the over inflated pricing, the gloom, the packed tube, the grumpy poms, or the poor quality food... JUST KIDDING, everything is like a new experience, i feel like a kid everytime i do something different... yesterday i was at buckingham palace, and Harrods. (at harrods i saw a half jacket, you know just a shoulder one for £498 which roughly calculated is $1000 OH MY GOD LAUGH OUT LOUD!) i have walked through trafalar square so much, and bought food at a tesco :)... london is so diverse, more so even than melbourne, which makes me happy. the end of my contiki tour was awesome, i loved paris, with its snobby exterior but mooshy heart. i saw eiffel tower (awesome) and champs de elysees, and arc de triompe.. i got to try and use my "french for dummies" (lol bock remember those times... ) and i didnt suck! switzerland was cold, and mainly closed for easter, but that was ok, a bit of a rest day. we got caught in a blizzard between switz and france, an amazing sight which i couldnt believe. snow is so clean, and cleansing... we really miss out in australia. as we drove into austria through the alps the snw caps were melting making these beautiful waterfalls on cliff faces. italy was probably the lowlight of my trip, i think my expectations were too high and when i got there it was easter, so there were milions apon millions of tourists. it was smelly, and italians are pushy. plus the things i was excited to see were all kind of, underwhelming, i was even unimpressed with the sistine chapel... now not to be too harsh on italy, Florence was awesome. and that was more of what i was expecting of italy. the smells of waffels smothered in gelati wafting through small alley ways... DELIGHTFUL. plus the nightlife in florence was pretty good, except that italian men have no problem in TOUCHING whatever they want,. never have i been more violated, and flattered :).
the people on my tour were gorgeous and i will stay close friends with many of them for years to come. our day song "lets dance to joy division" will forever invoke images of drunken, sleepy, happy friends, locked onto a coach driving SOMEWHERE within europe. haha somewhere indeed. in 12days we saw 8 countries. i have eaten italian in munich, and french in italy. i have danced the macerana in italy, and drunk 90% GRAPPA in florence. god it was insane. ive been hungover in germany, austria, italy, switzerland and paris..
back into london, and im staying in a hotel in hyde park, its not too bad and comes complete with breakfst. i a little bit homesick, but it happens. i cant wait to get working etc.. my tour manager is pushing me to get a job with contiki as a site rep... which would be amazing.
anyway. until next time; my love to those in australia.
