TODAY I DID MY SECOND FAVORITE THING IN NEW ZEALAND!....... i went to franz joseph and i got to climb the Frans Joseph Glacier! it was so amazing! we had to wear crampons things to help us stick to the ice and walk on it! and i just couldnt say crampons i called them crumpets the whole day. it was the best hike ever! we spent about six hours on the hike and we got to walk in all these crevases and it was amazing.... the best part was at the very end where we walked for ages in this tiny crevase! and then we had to use our ice axe to get through this one bit cause there was water on one side of the wall and it was like hypothermic water that went up to your waist. my ice axe was the best thing ever. when we had to wait to get steps cut into the ice i would just pic at the wall it was such good fun i think i am ready for the pros or ice picking... i learnt a lot on the glacier that there are only two glaciers in the world that are in the middle of the rain forest this one and one in argentina! so that was really cool. i also learnt that sports teams that have red jerseys are more likely to win because red brings out the testosterone in the players! it was a very informative day! OMG guess what happened i ran into LUCY from cairns in my hostel so i went and had dinner with her at our hostel bar.... it was good i had fish and chips and she had soup and chips! yeah after doing a 8 hour hike i was so dead i just went and slept..... nnot before i went to see a local band play called the ice pickers! and guess what they were an american country band! they had a BANGO!!....who plays the banjo! like why the banjo...why not the guitar or bass or drums.... but he was good but the band was awefull. but we got a free basket of chips after watching the Ice pickers so it was all worth it in the end!
