After 13 hours on a plane we finally made it to Lima on the 1st of Jan at 7am ... This was the start of our Latin adventure, wo hooo !!!

A ´shared van ´ (it is the public transport they use here) took us from the airport to el barrio de Miraflores where we checked in the Loki Backpackers hostel. After an awesome siesta
(4 hours !!! ) and a cold shower we wandered around the city, had our first peruvian meal and had a nice chat with other travellers over a couple of beers back in the hostel.

Lima was poorer than I had thought and it shocked me the lack of hygienic all over the place, specially how dirty toilets were ... Seriously, not even a pic could explain it ... I personally did
not like Lima, not much to do there anyway so we decided to head off south next day.

It was an early nite for us as we wanted to get up early next day and see a little bit more before heading off to Ica. Ar 1:30pm we took a bus which took us to Ica. We stopped 5 minutes in Pisco,
absolutely destroyed after the earthquake last Aug. It was shocking to see this small town in ruins, being the church just the only element up ... Lot of men were re-building up ....

We finally made it to Ica, a quite big town, dirty and dusty ... We took a txi to Huacachina, an oasis in the middle of the desert. The hostel were we checked in was great, with a quite big
swimming pool and basic dorms and toiltes. I have to say that the only hot shower I hace had since I left Madrid was in Loki hostel, the first and second day in Lima. Next day we got back to Ica as
we needed to take some money out and stock up some things and then back to Huacachina, the sand dune buggy tour !!! Charlie, myself, 4 irish dudes and a crazy Londoner fella got on in one of those
buggyes and the crazy driver droves us into the desert ... I thought couple of times I would die ... He was a very experienced driver I knew that but going all up a dune of 100m high and then go down
side way is fun and scary ... We screamed like crazy and finally we stopped to surf our first dune. Scary high but we made it, awesome !!! But that was just nothing compared with the last dune ... We
could not even see the end of it !! The buggy went down to wait for us before any of us could even react so there we were ... I thought i could not make it but that was the only way out so ... A deep
breath and .... wowwwwwwwww !!!!!!!!!! The speed I took was amazing,
