It's 9pm on Sunday here in London, so according to my calculations, John will be in his final descent to Chroistcherch right now, and probably feeling a bit woozy (because it's tomorrow and the morning and time for breakfast even though his body is telling him it's time to go to bed and stop drinking those third-bottles of airline white wine) and a bit excited (because he's going to meet up with his beloved daughter Lucy, who's probably got the whole fortnight utterly sorted out).
All being well, you'll all be far too damn busy having a good time and turning the kiwi dollar into good experiences to read this message for about two weeks. But when you do get round to reading this, well, hello from us both in London.
We spent yesterday in Trafalgar Square seeing a 100m x 50m scale model of London made out of food. The London Eye was a vertical pizza and the MI5 building at Vauxhall was a pile of sandwiches. We ate a bit of Covent Garden - I think the bit just east of the Royal Opera House booking hall - made from chocolate cake. Things like this happen in the world's greatest capital, you know.
Anyway, no doubt you're having a fab time, and we're thinking of you. In fact, all today (Sunday, ie your Monday) me and Rebecca kept saying, Where will John be now? Probably on his fifth, etc. 
Luce! Hope you have tons of cool stuff lined up for my daft brother to do. We talk about you a lot and miss you and look forward to seeing you sometime soon with LOTS of stories!
Rebecca's just put on a Dolly Parton CD, so it's time to go....

Aha! Pictures at last! About time! Some of us have such sad lives that we actually keep looking to see if you've blogged or uploaded pictures, you know.

Dolphins? Pah! We get whales here in London.

So what's all this about John coming out to see you? Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to get him doing a bungee jump, skydive, zorb and fly-by-wire in Queenstown or wherever. He'll love all that stuff.

Hire some bikes and do the Otago Rail Trail, too, when you do your camper van thing, and ride the train along the Taieri Gorge to Dunedin. That's fab. He'd love that too. Bit quiet for you though probably.

Drink lots of local beer and whisky in Dunedin and go to the top of the world's steepest street, Baldwin St, off the road south.

I'm dead jealous! If it wasn't for the fact that I've got a job at last, working at the British Library no less, I'd be out on the next deep vein thrombosis flight to Chroistcherch, and go punting on the Avon, and spend evenings drinking tim tam slams, whatever they are.
