We left Hervey Bay at some ungodly hour in order to catch our bus to Noosa - funnily enough the cheap buses are at awful times!!! Wonder why!
After some hassle with the German minibus driver we got to our hostel which was at Sunshine Beach, not quite central Noosa as we expected, but actually we think we were in a better place. The hostel, Dolphins Beachhouse, is very bohemian with hamocks and drapes and candles in the outside courtyard. We had a mini apartment for our room and a second 4 bed room. It was proabably one of the better ones as we had an outside deck area seperate from the other rooms so great for relaxing. The first day we headed into Noosa's main street - Hastings Street where we wandered along the streets looking longingly at all the shops. We decided that area was too expensive for us, so instead spent the remaining days at Sunshine Beach. Where we positioned ourselves next to the lifeguard station - well it's good to be safe!! We made lots of friends in our hostel, probably because of the laid back atmosphere. We watched the sunset one morning with a couple of our new friends, Vic and Rachel which was breath-taking and worth getting up for at 4:30 in the morning. Fi managed to see some of it before from her vantage point curled in the sand clutching her stomach trying not to throw up. We were very jealous to watch all the kids race down to the beach after school to surf - can you imagine how fun that would be.
We had another early start to get to Surfers Paradise, our bus was at 5:50 so after chatting and saying our goodbyes we went to bed, looking forward to our next stop.
