Hi all! A quick trip report in the form of a blog entry. I survived the 20+ hour bus ride to Bariloche. It was quite comfortable, really. The seats almost fully reclined, they showed several recent movies, and wine was served with dinner. Not too shabby.
I had three full days here in Bariloche to explore the region's many parks and lakes. It is beautiful here - a bit like the northwest, actually. Lots of trees, rivers, lakes, snow-capped volcanoes. It's also a lot like Switzerland - glaciers, stone buildings, fancy chocolate shops EVERYWHERE. The first couple days were mostly clouded over and drizzly (more reminders of home), but yesterday was a spectacular clear day and I spent the entire day hiking around. Awesome way to end my time here. I posted some photos of the sights.
Today, I get back on the bus - this time only for 13-14 hours - and head to Mendoza where I'll be staying for the next two months. When I was planning this trip, I figured I'd be ready to stay put in one place and not have to pack my bag and get on a plane (or bus) for awhile. I am looking forward to having a couple months to really get to know Mendoza, but I haven't minded moving from place to place at all. I'm sure I'll do some side trips from Mendoza to keep the trend going.
That's all for now. Happy Mother's Day to all the moms out there!

Kim It looks amazing. Who knew it would be so European? I hope you didn't bring one of those dogs home. Peachy will be jealous.
