Arrived in La Paz on Sunday night after an eventful journey across the Peruvian border that involved smuggling two bolivians without ID around the country, crossing lago titicaca and stopping to hide out in the mountains in the dark to wait for our illegals to catch up with us after they got caught by an angry mob at the border!
Randomly met a couple of the girls i had been volunteering with in Cusco on the streets of La Paz in the witches market so we decided to hot foot it to the salt lakes that evening!
Got a 3 day tour around the salt flats, the atacama desert, lagoons, gesyers and volcanoes in southern bolivia which was gorgeous! We broke down twice after reaching the chilean border and i had visions of us dehydrating with no one knowing where we were since it is the dryest place in the world! Luckily, the driver and one of the guys knew what they were doing and we got going again!
One of the highlights was definitely getting drunk on rum and coke and wine at 5000m whilst watching the sun set over the red lagoon - gorgeous!
Now back in La Paz and ready to paartay on tonight and do the death road!
Ciao for now! xxx
