Last days of trip
Rewriting blog 6 weeks later as the original has somehow been wiped out. So breifly describing what happened last days of the trip
16th-17th June: Left Banff and headed towards Golden. Stopped off at a few places on the way including the Spiral Tunnels. Huge tunnel looping in the mountains for trains. We saw one train go in, by the time the front came out of the tunnel we counted 87 wagons already gone through with another 40 odd still to get through the entrance. Straight onto the campsite which is run by the 2 most lovliest people I have ever met, Pat and her husband. Amazing couple. We quickly set up in the rain, thank god we got a short break in the weather so tents went up quick. That night I and some othe others were due to paraglide but bad weather cancelled that out so went for an explore before food. The next day I actually managed to get in the air. Me, Sandra and Antje took the long drive up to Mount 7. Got strapped in and had an amazing experience. After that it was time to get ready for Rafting. Arrived at the centre, picked up wetsuits, booties and lifejackets and got took up to the launch sit where the first guide was trying to get us motivated by being funny then failing miserably it was too painful to watch. We got to the launchsite, met our guide Chris and then got supplied with what can only be described as the most charming jumpers I've ever seen or worn. Went in the raft, water was freakin freezing, got wet, got cold but it was awesome. Just a shame the next bit was closed :( Back to camp and both groups spent last night together.
The next day both groups said cheerio and we headed through Revelstoke on our way to Hope. Stopping off at a couple of walks through rainforests, visitors centre and a walk called Skunk Cabbage b4 driving up part of Revelstoke and taking some pics. We drove all the way to Hope and celebrated Delia's birthday. The next day we headed towards Vancouver for our last day. Visited some great viewpoints, back to Stanley Park, had a walkabout before eating our last meal together and going back. The next day was all about goodbyes and arriving back in the USA. Met some amazing people on the trip and was one I'll never forget and a special thanks goes to Clayton our guide.
Sunday was all about leaving the West Coast. Met up with Antonella again and we both headed towards the airport. Once through the gates, said goodbye before heading on back to Florida.
