Left Laureen and Rotorua this morning to head to Taupo. On the way we stopped a several places to see searing hot mud pools, to see a geyser go off and then walked around Wai O Tapu which a big Termal wonderland. God did it stink!! now, I like eggs but this was foul. The sulphur was awful and if you stood down wind, you were in trouble. Quite fasinating though, there were various different natural holes where the water can be as hot as 300c. - even too hot for me!!. After this we headed into Tuapo where the driver uttered the scariest words of my life - the skydive's good to go. All day he'd been saying, oh by the way drivers name is Cookie!, that it was too windy and no diving today, right up until the last minute.
Soo, ive done it, can tick it off my to do list and never do it again. I jumped from 12 000ft strapped to man named Kane. I cant really describe it, youll have to do it yourself because I cant compare it to anything else ive ever done. What i will say is that its the most crazy, wonderfull, scary amazing thing Ive ever done. i got the whole package so have photos and video. Good thing too because I didnt realise that we actually backflipped out the plane and did some somersaults in the freefall. i thought what I did was normal - apparently not!.
Anyway, im alive!! and heading into wellington tomorrow.
See ya.
