we are now in the small tibetan town of McCloud Ganj, home to the tibetan government in exile and the 14th Dalai Lama! we are high up in the mountains, on the foothills of the himalayas. there are snow capped mountains in the distance and eagels soar overhead. natural pine forests scent the cool fresh mountain air. it gets quite cold up here at night, but its welcomed! there are some amazing treks and all kinds of massage, yoga, reikie, tai chi, acupunture, reflexology, bird-watching, meditation and cooking courses are available. i have had a fever for the last few days so iv been in bed, and later today i start a 10day retreat into buddist philosophy (www.tus***a.info). steve is going to do some treks while im away, which suits us both! there are volunteer english conversation classes for tibetan refugees. it is so eye opening to hear about how people have walked over the himalayan mountains to seek refuge in india, after being imprisioned, tortured, or having friends or family members murdered by the chinese government.
