This morning we watched the sunrise over the port and then said goodbye to Mum and Dad (Granny and Poppy) as they head off on a 3 day APT tour of the Top end. Darwin was very hot yesterday. We mostly had a lazy day and then in the evening we went to the 'deckchair cinema' and saw Hugo. It was a lovely warm night and an almost full moon. This morning, Jeff, Mum and the boys went to the WWII oil Bunkers, while i did chores. We then all took a walk through Darwin city centre. We had lunch at a cafe, did some souvenir shopping, bought new walking shoes for me and got the boys haircut! I am so enjoying the civilization of Darwin. I could stay all day and night in the beautiful apartment on the 20th floor at Skytower. It is great to spend some time with my parents. The boys are very happy to see Granny who is giving them lots of attention! Today we went to the wave-pool (outdoors) and did some shopping. We left the Bungle Bungles early and drove all day, across the WA-NT border and stayed at the Victoria River Roadhouse. It was a lovely place with good cheap meals and the cheapest campground yet ($15). The surrounding area is beautiful too with sandstone escarpment bordering the river.
