Krys & Toni's World Adventure
Hi guys,
Well after an overnight boat journey from hell (complete with wasted 18 year olds) we reached Koh Phangnan for the full moon party. We found a really nice place to stay, our own little bungalow on the beach with the best food ever. The only drawback was that we had to share our room- with a massive lizard that lived in the tiolet and popped up now and then to scare toni and say hello. Think Krys grew quite fond of it though. Our guesthouse owner arrived with a fishing rod when we mentioned it and put it down the toilet- very funny but it clearly wasnt going to work!
The full moon party was on thge Saturday and was fab. Thousands of people on the beach just having a good time. We lasted until the sun came up which was a suprise to us as we're usually in bed so early! Was a double celebration for Krys as Liverpool also won the FA Cup the same night. No photos though as we were scared of losing the camera!
After over-indulgence we escaped to the north west of the island for detox and relaxation on a beach called Haad Yao. Just a relaly quiet place where we did not much except sleep, sunbathe and snorkel. We saw an advert for poo massages which didnt sound all that fun- think something got lost in translation, the mind boggles!
We moved on to Ko Tao, a really little island which is known for being one of the best dive sites in the world. We didnt intend to go scuba diving but changed our minds when we got there and signed up for an introduction course, where you get to do a dive but dont have to do the certification. Unfortunately, it rained for the whole 3 days we were there! Still, We went anyway, and it didnt seem to affect the visability in the water too badly, we still saw lots. Really wierd feeling but we both enjoyed it. Only went to 10 metres deep, maybe more next time! Cloughy, I'm sure you told me yours eyes bled when you went scuba diving so that put me off a bit!
Spent the rest of our time there exploring the island in the rain, but loved the island anyway, think I'll come back in the future.
We're heading back to the west coast now to see Ko Lanta which we didnt get time to do before. Think there's going to be more rain though as it's now monsoon season. We'll be moving to Malaysia in a few days and will be celebrating Krys' 29th birthday on 26th. He now has to concede he is in his late 20's!
Take care and miss you all lots,
Toni and Krys
