Yes you did survive the jungle, in fact you were doing it ''Hardcore Borneo Style'' as in getting up for the Morning river cruise on the last day, hardcore to the bone. Hope you had a nice St. Patrick's Day in KK...I had a good few excrutiating hours in a minibus to Semporna and got burnt down one side of my body only, as I was practically hanging out the window. Worth it though, Semporna is a bit of a dive (no pun intended swear...) but the diving is amazing! Really busy with divers here, I'm doing my open water (well finished it today) on another island (not Sipadan, there are loads around here) for only 700RM even cheaper than Thailand, and tomorrow I'm diving around Sipadan. Already seen quite a few turtles, huuuge ones as well (yeahhh they look bigger underwater though =P ) You should definitely get down here if you can, tis lovely, and the guy at the dive shop is Scottish (although he's been out of Scotland for 10 years and sounds more like a frenchman). The beaches on the islands are paradise. Did you get some photos from Rupert? He sent some of him climbing the mountain etc. but I'm still waiting for him to send the photos from that weekend in KK, inc. the ones he took of me and Lonely Planet Tom asleep on the sofas (embarrassing). Anyway I'll stop waffling on and taking up space on your message board, perhaps see you weekend of beginning of April when I'm back from Phillipines (gonna survive the pirates I think) although I know you'll be with your family. If not, then would be 'immense' as you say Blondie, to catch up with you and other blonde Scottish Kirsty in Vietnam. She's a lovely chick cracks me up too. I've heard a few mixed things about Vietnam from other backpackers but suppose we should check it out for ourselves aye?
Take care + enjoy Labuan this weekend

Hey I can definatly confirm with your Mum that Glasgow was very bad on Sat nite and Sun. Unbelievable amount of snow, we had 7-8 inches!!!!! I was nice & cosy in flat watching all the neds throw snowballs at the few cars that actually managed to esacpe from their parking spaces, some of my friends were snowboarding in Kelvin Park & people were skiing in Sauchihall St - Crazy. The next door neighbours kids made a snowman its body was 6ft and they couldn't get the head on cos too heavy, and still enough snow left over if they wanted to make a snow family. Its all turned to slush now but still very amusing getting into uni this morning I was all over the place then got attacked by huge hail stones - arrgh. Well bet u have none of these problems!! :-) Hasn't been a postcard from you in few days so I expect you have had a very busy weekend. Have Fun!! Kerry xxx

SNOWING today! Rosie tried to go snowboarding with Hamish to Glenshee but the road was blocked. It was so bad in Glasgow on Sat night/Sun morning that three and a half thousand clubbers got stranded and had to stay the night in Glasgow. The Police had to get the clubs to open up again to take people in from the cold, the busses and taxis and trains were all cancelled. It's fine here at home, a little wet snow, very cold but our local roads are fine. Ross is stranded in Killin, he was visiting his brother. Will bring photos out with me. xxxxxxxxxxxxxMum

Oh dear! I've landed myself right in it! For the record:- I, of course, retract the "shallow" statement, the boys are lovely, just not big readers!Have fun at the wedding this week-end, do you have a gift? Can't wait for the inevitable, lengthy postcard with all the details.I hope you see baby turtles over at Sandakan. If you have time try to read the history around the area, there was a prisoner of war labour camp at Sandakan and you should try to visit the museum etc there. I would advise you to read the background first to prepare yourself for a visit, it's pretty heavy stuff. Lots of love Mum xxxxxxxxx

I may aswell jump in this wee mini debate about us being "shallow" (ouch by the way!) Being a loving caring kind of guy I do read them but sometimes feel a slight essence of deja vu as Im fully aware of all the going ons in Malaysia as Im in constant touch sed to play the mars bar game aswell I was rubbish at it! Just found out on the news that there are kangaroos on a wee island in scotland! Living in the wild!! Had to let you know that! Anyway, Speak to you soon! Love youxxx
