Day 1 arrived at 10.10, got picked up by the shuttle bus and taken to our hostel Noosa Backpackers. We did some food shopping to keep us going the next few days, walked down by the river which was 10seconds from where we were staying, and Kenny bought a fishing rod. We spent the rest of the afternoon fishing, where I kicked ass, 5-1. We caught pufferfish, which is the second most poisonous fish in the world and if we had of got spiked by it, we could have been in big trouble. (We found this out after Kenny had removed the hooks from them with his bear hands). They literally do as they say on the tin; puff up like a balloon once they feel threatened. Also caught some bream, whiting and trevelli. The others we will just refer to as spikey ones- spikes fins and sharp teeth (which Kenny learnt the hard way). The night ended with s lost hook, as we didn't have any more, so we'll have another go tomorrow. Back at the hostel, Kenny made burgers and salad for dinner. Had an early night in our 6 bed room (mattress and pillows really comfy) but the room had a purposeful triangle cut out at the top so you could hear everyone in the other room. Random. Thank goodness for ear plugs.
On the second, we went to Australia zoo and had such a great day. Went with Sinead from our Fraser tour. Wasn't too busy which was good. We saw all the usual Australian animals and they had water dragons running around the grounds. I held a koala, was soo soft and didn't smell or pee on me that I expected, so bonus. $25 wasn't that bad for it either, thought would be more expensive. Then we watched the croc show, which was amazing. After that we went to a tiger show and learnt that tigers may be extinct in the wild by 2020. That's so sad, save the Tigers!! It was actually quite sad being there a it's all based on Steve Irwin and making his legacy of saving the animals live on. His family actually live in the zoo too. We went to the animal hospital as well, and saw the little injured koalas, soo cute. Slept the whole way back on the greyhound. The evening was spent fishing again (I won again ;p) and bumped into a couple from our Fraser trip Rachel and Gav. Spaghetti bolognese dinner wasn't too bad either.
Day 3 we spent hiking in Noosa National Park. We hiked to Hells gate, sat had lunch and watched turtles and dolphins. It was very pretty and hot. Noosa seems like a lovely place; nice beaches and hiking. Walked back to the town which just has a few shops and found myself a hat, got Kenny more bait and some stamps for our Christmas cards. We had another evening of fishing in the dark. Also done the washing; couldn't believe the amount in only two weeks.
