Our first beach drinks, Mai Tais. Only in the USA do you get a drink served in a Tiki and an umbrella on the side. We made sure they were okay and had a second round- DeLish!!!

Had time for a very crowded Waikiki beach. Surfers, board surfing and a mass of humanity. Very beautiful hotels, catamarans and resorts.

Early morning landing Honolulu. Check luggage and strike out to Pearl Harbor & Arizona Memorials. Very well done historical presentation that should make an impression on anyone that visits. This National Park is a place all Americans should try to see.

Election day in French Polynesia - according to locals in Tahiti, a very special day, as we found ourselves in the middle of a rally and voting at a local precinct in Papeete. Quite the event, but with a downside for us ... No alcohol sales on the island :( Dinner at the Sofitel in Papeete. Hotels allowed to sell wine by the glass :) Viva l'election!

Last breakfast at Keikahanui Lodge. Will has eaten all the chocolate croissants so we did not have any for today. Brief visit to museum and to meet Rose Corser, a local fixture for more than 30 years, former owner of resort and curator of museum artifacts. Got Rose's autograph on print of chief who unknowingly signed over ownership of Marquesas to French in mid 1800's Purchased CD of Jean Pierre's (our guide )Polynesian music from Rose.
