Our first full day in Osaka and we weren`t quite sure what to do, so we thought we would do something touristy and go to Osaka Castle. We left Tokyo and got a bullet train to Osaka. The trains are amazingly nice, there is so much leg room, you could fit my backpack on the floor and still have room to move. The trains apparently go up to 300 mph, though the average speed is about half that. When your actually on the train it doesn`t seem very fast at all.It took us just under three hours to get from Tokyo to Osaka, which is roughly 350 miles away. Yesterday we attempted to go to Ueno zoo, but when we got there we discoverd it was shut (as alot of tourist things are on a monday) We went into the grounds of the temple next door. Yesterday we went to the Imperial Palace Gardens, we couldn't (as far as we know) get into the actual palace. The gardens were full of trees, no surprises there! and a lot of historic buildings like rest houses and fort type things. Not being a great lover of history it was a bit lost on me but it was quite interesting.  Today we went to Harajuku. Went to Disneyland Tokyo yesterday and today. Yesterday we went to the main park, decided to leave early and then got there and had to wait for 45 minutes to actually get in. Tickets were quite cheap, 10000 yen for two days, which is around 40 pound. It was also really easy to get to by train from our hostel.Disney was awesome, though everything was in Japanese so you didn't get the full effect.
