Headed to Koh Tao from by boat, got absoloutely soaked on the way! Made our way to Sairee beach, one of the main one islands on the isalnd. Found a nice bungalow across the road from the beach.Â
Booked a snorkelling trip for day 2. Didn't start off too well as it was raining again and I'll taxi was an hour late! Eventually we got on the boat and the sun came out! Our first stop was at shark Bay. Despite it's name and the fact the guy promised we'd see a shark I don't think we quite believed we would, however about 2 mins into the snorkel a couple of black tip sharks came our way!! It was pretty scary to see one so close and they were quite big, about 2 foot! Altough later Kev swore they were more like 10 foot!! They weren't really interested in us but that didn't stop Kev going down to get a better look!! He got told off for swimming TOWARDS the sharks!! Think he wanted a shark bite scar to show off!! Luckily we both got back on the boat with no limbs missing!! The rest of the trip was good, saw lots of cool fish, I think we'd been a bit spoilt with Phi Phi though as snorkelling there was brilliant!
When we'd got back on dry land and was nice and dried off we got attacked by hundreds of water guns!! As it was Thai new year they celebrate by having a massive water fight!! We were in a pick-up truck on the way home and our driver actually stopped and beeped at the guys with the water so they could get us!! We all got drenched!! It went on all day all over Koh Tao! Even the guys who woned our resort chased us and got us with freezing ice cold water!! I think it's supposed to be a good thing when they get you!!
Bit of a party on the beach that night to celebrate the new year, although it was mainly just the tourists celebrating! Was a good night though, bit like a mini Pha Ngan!
Our last day was really hot and sunny so we chilled on the beach and played in a bit of bat and ball! We finally got the BBQ we'd been looking forward to for ages and had a massive kabab on the beach!!
Headed back over to Koh Pha Ngan for one night, with a bot more pizza and Friends!! ready for our long trip to Kuala Lumpur tomorrow.
Had to be up very early for the start of our 24 hour trip. Nearly had to take a couple of puppies with us who wouldn't let go of Gezs' bag! Got the ferry 4 hours, a very cramped minibus for 5 hours and then a bigger coach, but still very cramped for another 12 hours!! Was supposed to be a luxury 12 hour coach ride but we got shoved at the back where there was half the leg room and then the lovely poeple in front decided to push their chair all the way back!! Poor Kev nearly lost his knee caps!! The trip wasn't too bad though as we did find a KFC which we'd been dreaming about for the first 10 hours of the trip!!Â
