Hi everyone, this is officially our last blog from Australia so we'll try and make it a good one!
We have spent the last week or so in Coolangatta on the Gold Coast, where we have both spent alot of time surfing, sunbathing and relaxing. We visited a place called Springbrook not to far from here where we had to drive up plenty of hills and when we reached the top the area looked over the whole of the Gold Coast. The area has a National Park, which is the nicest National Park we have been to so far. It has numerous waterfalls and lovely forest walks and plenty of wild life. The main waterfall we went to was Purlingbrook falls approximately 150 metres tall, it was the first waterfall me and Clare had ever visited and was such a beautiful place to relax. However the only problem was we had to walk 4 KM down to it along the forest trail and when we got to the bottom we both said it was well worth the walk. From the waterfall we walked a further 2 KM down to a lovely pool called Waringa Pool, which was another pleasant place to be. Obviously walking down all that way meant we had to walk all the way back up!!!!! Yes UP! which was a lot harder than coming down. Although a dark green/black snake slithering between our legs made the journey more eventful and sped us up a little bit. Unfortunately we didn't manage to get a photo of it, but we certainly won't forget it. All together we walked 12 KM (thats for those who are struggling with the maths questions on the blog - ha ha) which is the equivalent to 7.45 miles!!! Kevin still managed to find the energy for a surf when we got back to Coolangatta though.
We are now just finishing up in Coolangatta getting ready to take Tessle back and make our way to Brisbane Airport on Tuesday. We will be in touch very soon from New Zealand. We miss you all loads and can't believe that we only have 5 weeks left.
Lots of love Kevin and Clare
