From Puerto Madryn we took an overnight bus across the country to Bariloche, a skiing town in the Andes. Bariloche is an absolutely gorgeous place. Its situated on a huge lake surrounded by snow capped mountains. We were very lucky with our hostel window, it had one of the best views Ive ever had.
Although the main thing to do here is skiing, we didnt do that - instead we did 2 day trips. The first one was down to the Tronador mountain to see the "Black Glacier". As you can see in the pictures, its more grey than black, but very cool...literally. Plenty of snowfights along the trek to get there too, which was fun. All the time on this trip we could see the peak of the Tronador mountain, half of which is in Argentina, half in Chile. The next day we rented some bikes and did a 30 km cycle around the lake on the circuit known as Circuito Chico. More spectacular scenery here (see pics for details, my descriptions wont do justice). We got really lucky with the weather here. After 3 day sunny (but cold)days, the day we left it started pouring down and the place just didnt look as nice. Bariloche is probably one of the most prettiest places Ive ever been, definetly a must visit place. Stay in room 1004 if you ever go.
