Got up this morning and headed into the main part of Algonquin Provincial Park. We set off on the Centennial Ridges trek, a 10.8k hike with 300 metres of elevation. Was a lovely, scenic walk and got lots of good pictures. Unfortunately after lunch there was rain of biblical proportions and absolutely everything got completely soaked. By the time we finished the trek the rain has stopped but everyone was soaking wet so we decided to head back to camp and try and try things off.
We got the fire lit and surrounded it with everyone's possessions that needed to be dried, unfortunately my phone was completely dead so into a Tupperware full of rice it went. The rest of the day was spent around the campsite trying to get everything dry.
At dusk several of us went for a walk from the campsite and down some of the trails seeing if we could see any black bears, unfortunately none of them came out to play.
Somebody else at the camp told us about a place where you can often see bears so we may do that tomorrow.
