Really glad I stopped here and probably could have actually enjoyed an extra night or too. Met some nice people on the pick up shuttle from the coach station and we all got back to the hostel by 8am. Nice hostel, clean and had a pool. The 5 of us hired bikes and went out to explore Coffs Harbour and find the famous 'Big Banana' (All other Oz are a random collection of supersized objectives in different towns and cities)...however after a b**** of a hill, we were all somewhat disappointed when the 'Big Banana' turned out to be a lot smaller than we imagined, nonetheless we took pictures and enjoyed the views from the skywalk and cycled our way back. I spent the afternoon chilling down the beautiful, quiet beach and went in the sea. But I spotted a couple of bright purple jellyfish so I didn't stay in too long!! After the others left I decided to hang down the beach as the sun started to go down and just totally relaxed and listened to my iPod, it was so nice to just be completely chilled. Then I went for a walk up the massive hill which was also a nature reserve and viewpoint, it was just in time for sunset and was absolutely stunning. Not many people about so I just sat on the rocks looking out on the ocean for a bit. Its a shame I wasn't there between May and November as its Whale Watching season and I would have probably spotted some. I slowly walked back to the hostel and by this point it was about 8pm, I made some food, showered and then decided to crash out because I had to get up at 5.30am for the morning coach on to Byron Bay and all the fresh air had made me so sleepy!
