We are now at a place called Montville which is in the hills in the hinterland about 30 kms from the coast. We are staying for two nights at a cottage which was recommended by Graham Kershaw, it is really nice, however, Denise the owner changed our cottage as the original one has a snake in residence in the roof. We are now at the Sunshine Coast at a town called Noosa, the weather is living up to the area's name, it's red hot and we have had no rain for the past two days. We have had a relaxing day today, taking the ferry on the Noosa river to a town called Tewantin where we had a nice lunch and drink before making our way back to Noosa. We have just spent the day at Fraser Island, it is the biggest island entirely made of sand, there is supposed to be more sand on Fraser Island than there is in the Shara Desert. The weather was great, hot and sunny just like in the photograph. We have nearly changed colour. There was a lot of vegetation and it also has a rainforest. After leaving Airlie Beach we stopped off at Townsville (not a very hip and happening place)for one night and continued our journey south stopping off at Agnes Water/Town of 1770. The significance of the name is that Captain Cook first set foot in Queensland on 24 May, 1770. Original or what? Agnes Waters was very pretty, imagine Beadnell Bay bathed in sunlight and very hot. Hi everyone, we have travelled down from Port Douglas (the rainforest) to Airlie Beach where we are staying a couple of days before moving on again. We have to be at Brisbane by Friday 2 March wo we have a few stops pencilled in along the way. Airlie Beach is lovely, fabulous views out to sea. It is the gateway to the Whitsunday Islands.
