Hello!
This is my very first post and I hope everyone find it useful in someway!
Bus ticket - 25rm (To) + 15rm (Fro)
Ferry ticket - 70rm (To & Fro)
Accommodation - 120rm/night
** Food not included
Snorkeling Equipment - 15rm/day
Diving (without cert) - 900rm
Diving (with cert) - Not very sure
Traveling in 2 pax with my friend, we took a night bus 3hours ride from Larking to Mersing thus reaching the destination about 12am plus.
Started looking for hostel somewhere near the Mersing jetty and we found one that's with the last room available. It cost us 20rm for 5hours - 6hours rest. Due to the time and both of us were girls, we accepted the price with a little bargain to 15rm.
7am was the wake up time and we left about 7.30am heading off to Mersing jetty. 15mins walk away from the hostel and tada! We reached the jetty!
First thing was to get our ferry tickets since the boat starts heading off about 8.30am. Basically we saw some alumni from our school and they heading off to diving. :D
Took the boat and since our stop is at Salang Bay which is the very last stop the ferry duration was 2hours.
Reached our destination about 11am and we started comparing the best price of the resort. Most of the price are the same but we chosen the one nearest to the jetty on the left since the convenient shop and food house is the cheapest. The resort room isnt bad at all! Its clean, nice, big and cosy!
Right after settle down, we went off to rent the snorkeling equipments and play around. Visibility is good and we saw lots of fishes and beautiful corals. Just too bad that I don't have a waterproof camera to snap shot of the ocean creatures. Lots of Baby Jellyfish was seen around too.
Quite scary with you think of them stinging you so we decided to swim away from it. Stop snorkeling in 2pm and we trekked all the way to Monkey Bay as we heard the road were linked. It took us 1hour to get there and 1hr to get back before nightfall. There isn't anyone living over there since there is no electricity and people seen, but a few monkeys were spotted! (:
Back to resort in time for shower and some snap shots of the beautiful sunset (appoxim 6pm) and off for dinner! As usual worth to eat more as its cheap at the food house.
After eating was back to our room and rest before heading back the next day. Sunrise was missed but we won't be able to see due to the position of the island so it doesnt matter much! Off to breakfast at 8.30am and then 9am ferry back to Mersing. Walked to the bus interchange and waited for our bus to arrive at 4pm as we didnt expect to reach Mersing so early.
So we spent the whole 4hours sitting at the interchange eating and planning for the next trip which is Pulau Redang on 2010.
Once 4pm, we head up the bus and slept our way back to Larkin interchange and we reached about 6pm. Took bus back to city square for dinner at the backally, the Stingray is superb costing us 11rm each! It truly worth the money! So try it out people!
Head home after dinner and that concludes my Tioman experience!
Lovely island which is very good for relaxing.
Alright that's all for Pulau Tioman.
***** Souvenir at Tioman is a bomb! Its the best if only you know how to bargain! (:
I will be updating on Pulau Redang soon!
Stay tuned lovelies!!
