After our short, one night stay, we left Delphi this morning and drove about three hours to Kalambaka. Our drive took us up and down mountain passes, through groves of olive trees and past lots of farms and fields. Most fields are very small while the olive groves seem to go on forever! This morning we woke up a bit earlier because it was a travel day and we still wanted to enjoy breakfast with views of the Acropolis! We skipped breakfast this morning because today's activities started with a walking food tour of Athens. We met our tour guide Eirini in Monastiraki Square. Today was a very full day! We started with a wonderful breakfast at the rooftop restaurant in our hotel. It had lovely views of the Acropolis as well as the city and the food was very good. At 8am we were picked up by our driver, George, who took us immediately to the Acropolis so that we could beat the crowds. Upgrading to first class on international flights is the best! Unfortunately, there was only one upgrade available on the Chicago to Munich flight so Keely graciously gave it to me.
