Hong Kong
We arrived into HK airport and caught the train to Kowloon Station. It was so humid and about 28degC as we walked to the hotel - The Dorsett Seaview Hotel. It was a short walk but it felt like a million miles with our backpacks and the heat!
We visited the Temple Street night market, which was conveniently in the street adjacent to our hotel. We had some dinner at one of the cafes on the side of the street whilst the night market was on - we ordered pork balls with noodles, which were really watery - not quite to my taste. The café waitress saw us struggling with the chopsticks they had provided and brought over 2 forks - so British, but we did try!
We visited HK island the next day using the Star Ferry to cross the water, which took only a few minutes.
We went on the Peak Tram to the top of the hill and went on the sky terrace to the viewing platform for views over the city.As you will be able to see the city sky is covered with a grey smog which spoilt the views of the amazing city with a crazy amount of high-rise buildings in short a small area.
What I loved about HK was that as soon as you get off the ferry there are pedestrian walkways everywhere and you can get all over the city using them. They even go through buildings and have escalators outside. It is an amazing city and is so busy.
We took a walk through the botanic gardens just as it was getting dark before getting the ferry back to Kowloon.
The following day before leaving HK we went to the History and Science museums in Kowloon and then headed back to the airport using the train.
