Our original plan for travel this time didn't include Switzerland. I can't remember why and I can't remember why we changed our minds, but I think it's probalby the best decision we've made on this trip so far.
My first thought as I got off the train in Bern was..... 'holy..... s***' Somewhere between Milan and Bern the temperature had dropped by 20 degree. Clearly our flip flops and shorts were about to be sent to the bottom of the backpack (and so far they're yet to see the light of day)
Bern in fairytale cute and we had a great time stuffing ourselves on Rosit and Fondue, riding the free bikes provided by the city and whiling about the hours drinking coffeein cosy cafes whislt waiting for the rain to pass.
Interlarken. I've been pondering for days about what to say out Interlarken, and I"m still not sure, but figured it was time I wrote something. Mother Nature went all out here.
Definatly the highlight of our 3 days here was our hike to the top of Shilthorn. SItting at 2970m (that'smore than 700m higher than Mt Kosciusko) nestled in amoungst the Jungfur Region of the Alpsit provides some of the best views of the area. Addmitadly we got a head start by catching the bus to Gimmlewald, but that still left us 1600m to climb on our own two feet.
After the first hour of the steepest walking I've ever done I stopped laughing at the people with their walking pole things. I guess I can see how they might be useful now.
2 hours of climbing later we had hit snow....... perhaps gym shoes were a porr choice of footwear.
After anotherhour and a half of walking, climbing, crawling through snow (sometimes knee deep) and one mental breakdown later (think snow capped ridge, slippery slopes on either side, nothing but one lousy wire rope to cling to and a new found fear of hights we made it to the top.
It was the hardest, scariest, most exhilarating thing we've ever done. The views (and the sense of achievement) made it worth it. But would we do it again? At the time we said Hell No. But a week on....... maybe.............. but perhaps this time I'd choose better shoes.
As a whole I think Switzerland surpased both our expectations. there are so many thing to slove about it but here are our top 5.
1. chocolate
2. rosti & fondu (I know it's technicall 2 things, but we always ate them together...)
3. trains that run on time (heck, everything runs on time)
4. super friendly people
5. the best scenery mother nature has to offer.

Beyza first off, where are you going to be in switzerland? sencod, how much do you plan on spending for travelling? if you already have an idea where you want to go, then go to ryanair.com and buy tix, because their airfare is the cheapest you'll find, and buying asap could seriously cut down on expenses. but otherwise, if you would like to go skydiving, paragliding and all that good stuff, go to interlacken (i think i spelled that right). it's awesome. geneva is also a good place to check out. munich is not that far away and in the heart of bavaria. lots of sights to see there. great food and beer. but those are just off the top of my head right now. vienna is not that far away either, and it's beautiful in every sense of the word anyhoo. send me a word and i have lots more stories about where you can go.
Jason I wish to express some thknas to the writer for rescuing me from this crisis. As a result of looking throughout the world wide web and getting tricks which were not powerful, I was thinking my life was well over. Being alive without the presence of answers to the problems you've solved by way of your main post is a critical case, and the kind that might have in a wrong way affected my career if I hadn't discovered your site. Your own talents and kindness in playing with all the stuff was helpful. I'm not sure what I would have done if I hadn't encountered such a thing like this. It's possible to at this time relish my future. Thanks a lot so much for the high quality and result oriented guide. I won't be reluctant to suggest your web sites to anybody who should get guidance on this subject matter.
Kasia hey there and thank you for your information – I’ve ceatnirly picked up anything new from right here. I did however expertise several technical points using this site, since I experienced to reload the web site a lot of times previous to I could get it to load correctly. I had been wondering if your web host is OK? Not that I'm complaining, but sluggish loading instances times will often affect your placement in google and could damage your high-quality score if advertising and marketing with Adwords. Well I am adding this RSS to my e-mail and could look out for much more of your respective intriguing content. Make sure you update this again soon..
Doularam I know that you specifically asked about hotless, but sometimes budget hotels can wind up being cheaper than a lot of hotless (especially for two people). My boyfriend and I really enjoyed the budget hotel we stayed at while in Paris last month, the Grand Hf4tel Re9publique.hostelz.com/display.php/31227+Grand+H%F4tel+R%E9publique+%28Hotel+Basfroi%29It's in a cute area and there's a market, ATM machine and AWESOME pizza place nearby. And it's VERY close to a me9tro stop (Parmentier) and the Pe8re-Lachaise Cemetery. As you can see on the web site, breakfast (a baguette, croissant and glass of OJ) is free, and there's free internet access in the basement. You can book online. I have no complaints about my experience there. We arrived extremely late due to a plane delay and there was no problem whatsoever (it was around 11:30 at night). Oh, and I don't know if this is important or not, but I'm pretty sure all the employees there spoke English. And they were all friendly and helpful.
