Leaving London

After years of thinking about it and weeks of planning it, I'm finally going. It is starting to sink in at last and I'm doing what I can to distract myself from thinking about whether this was such a good idea after all or whether I wouldn't rather spend the next six months watching Homes under the Hammer in my pyjamas..still, I've paid for the flight so I'm going!

Despite my best intentions to pack light like a seasoned traveller, my giant bag is bursting to the seams. I am sure I will end up discarding a lot of it on the way but I just couldn't face leaving some of it behind.

The weather in London is terrible, rain pounding on the windows with no sign of ever stopping, a great reminder of how nice it will be to spend winter abroad for once. Although as we are flying out to Vietnam which has just been hit by the typhoon when the country was already suffering from floods tells me that this might just be a sign of things to come...

I will do my best to update this blog as I go along and post some good photos to make everyone jealous! I will also be in touch on Facebook, two phones, Skype and email so there's no excuse not to keep in touch! I am really going to miss everyone and would love to get updates of what you are doing over the next few months.
