Well, we landed in Perth on the 16 October, and I can tell you that we were all very happy!! That happiness was slightly short lived as we discovered that our faliure to plan accommodation ahead meant that we would have to move out of our resort the next day! This meant that Kat and I had to trapse round Perth at 10 at night trying to find somewhere to stay! Not fun! We finally checked into the YHA on the Friday night and as there was nowhere else to stay on Perth, we headed over to Freemantle for the weekend. That was the best idea ever, as Freemantle is a beautiful town! We got the ferry to the town, so spent an hour gently crusing the Swan River, and upon arrival, headed to the best fish and chip shop in town and ate our lunch in the park! Perfect! A trip to Freemantle wouldnt be complete without a stop at the Little Creatures brewery, and to end the day we (randomly!) visited the prison (which is meant to be one of the best attractions in Perth!). On Sunday morning we visited the Freemantle Market, and then spent the afternoon on Cottlesloe beach, soaking up the rays! Beautiful! To end a perfect Sunday, we headed to the bottle shop for some cold beer and watched the sunset over the Indian Ocean! (Are you jealous yet?!)
We were then booked into the Billabong Resort for the next 5 days, so that week we all chilled around Perth. We visited City Beach (when it was cloudy and freezing!) and had a picnic in Kings Park, a beautiful park overlooking the city and Swan River. I did a small amount of shopping (I hate not having any money!).
Perth is an amazing city, but very very small, but I do feel at home here and it has a great community feel, so it gets a big thumbs up from me!
