Well unfortunately my time in Perth is drawing to a close. I have just over 1 week left here before I head on to continue my Australian Adventure.
Cannot actually believe how quickly the time has passed. Amazingly I arrived over 10 weeks ago now, but it seems like yesterday! I have loved living with Geoff + Mel in Morley and we've had lots of fun together, from making pizza, to throwing bbq's, going to the beach and having marathon DVD rentals from Blockbuster. I thoroughly enjoyed the 4 weeks (and 2 days!) I spent at MBS Environmental and the lovely people I met there. I spent my final 3 weeks at PBF (Paraplegic Benefit Fund) Australia, and lets not forget the horrendous 2 days I spent at 'Quiflix' online DVD rental. However it all paid for my ongoing travels, so it isn't all bad. I've enjoyed the brief time with Luce and Tara, whether it be our drunken shenanigans in Northbridge or just meeting up for mexican food. I'll never forget Megan's birthday night when she was carted off in the back of an ambulance for having her "drink spiked" (nuff said!). I watched my first ever AFL Grand Final in support of the West Coast Eagles of course at their official home, The Subiaco Hotel, and watched them triumph over the Sydney Swans and bring the trophy back to WA - what a day!! I've enjoyed picnics in Kings Park and a cuddle from a wombat! Not to mention the 4 day road trip I embarked upon down to the south-west, which was great. For the latter 6 weeks I was joined in Perth by Sarah H and we've enjoyed a few cinema trips and coffee after work, shared our first ever Sunday Session at the Cott! Not to mention the 1 day that we were Ladies who Lunch in West Perth, haha! I've watched as the shops start to fill up with all things Christmassy over the last couple of weeks - which just seems wrong when its 30 degrees outside and summer is only just round the corner! Halloween (while not really celebrated here) was incorporated into Michael's Housewarming party which made for an enjoyable evening and a drunken passing out by my goodself on his - very comfortable - couch! And yesterday was Mel's Birthday. We went out for dinner last night to their favourite indian restaurant with Geoff's sister Lorna and her fiance Adam. What a wonderful meal, probably the best indian food I have ever had. Real melt-in-the-mouth stuff, yum! I also baked a chocolate fudge cake for Mel, which turned out to be a bit of a disaster (long story) but tasted pretty darn good nonetheless! We had a great bbq party for Mel at the house and on my final Saturday, Sarah and I picked up our Wicked van and trundled off down to Fremantle for the day, where we visited the Prison, toured around on the Cat bus, had a spot of alfresco lunch and wandered round the Freo Markets. So it's a reluctant over and out from me in Perth. I will miss it dreadfully. And my biggest regret so far, is that I didn't spend the 4 months in Sydney, but instead spent them here :-( Still, it doesn't pay to have regrets in life, so I must look forwards, not backwards. Until the next installment..........
