Amazingly, we looked right out to the horizon and could see humpback whales. They migrate north at this time of year to breed and one even swam right into Sydney Harbour a couple of week's ago! It was obviously a long way out so we couldn't see them that well, but you could see the puff of water from their blowholes and the whale-watching vessels nearby. Apparently, australian's are worried about them incase they swim so far north that they hit Japanese waters - where the likelihood is they will be hunted :-(
