I have been truly rubbish at keeping up to date with my blog. I think I have made 2 or 3 entries, but we have a really long time to wait for our Greyhound bus this evening so I thought I'd write a brief update of where we are up to.
We have been in Exmouth on the West Coast of Australia since Sunday and it's the "biggest" town we have been in for a while so we are really enjoying it. On Monday we played mini-golf (I won!!), explored the town and did some shopping. We also went to the visitor information centre and booked some trips. On Tuesday we spent the afternoon on a boat whale watching and it was one of my favourite Australia experiences. The boat driver goes out fishing everyday so he knew exactly how to approach the whales so that thy wouldn't get frightened and one swam right under the boat. We got some really good videos and photos of them squirting water and flicking their tails! I didn't realise how big they were until then!!! We also saw some really big jellyfish and a turtle.
Yesterday we went on a day trip to Cape Range National Park which was really cool and made me realise again just how big Australia is. We drove thorugh miles and miles of National Park spotting kangaroos and echidnas everywhere. We also went on a boat cruise down Yardie Creek where some Wallaby's live in the rocks and there is lots of birdlife and jumping fish. Then we went snorkelling at Turquoise Bay on the Ningaloo Reef which was really beautiful, but it was very windy so I kept getting blown around with the fish. I saw 2 starfish as well!
I will do another blog entry to tell you all about the other places we have visited on the West Coast.
